Danica and Eric’s wedding day was originally planned to be a big affair. When COVID-19 changed everything they had to think quickly and rearrange all their plans and their guest list. They opted for a small, intimate wedding day and it was simply perfect. The rain that threatened all day held off and they were surrounded by their closest loved ones. I do enjoy the big lavish weddings, but I have to say that small, intimate weddings hold a special place in my heart. There’s something so romantic about them!
How They Met
Danica and Eric grew up in two different areas. She’s from Baie Sainte Anne and he is from Miramichi. However they always travelled in the same social circles throughout high school. Eventually, friendship turned to dating 6 years ago and they haven’t looked back since.
Eric is a bit of a romantic at heart. So he knew he wanted his proposal to be special. Eric found the perfect ring and he was so excited that he couldn’t wait. He planned to propose the same day he bought the ring! Danica was working until later that evening so he had some time to make everything perfect. Danica came home to the back patio fully decorated with lights and candles. He had champagne chilling, it was picture perfect. Eric finally got the courage to ask her the question he’d been thinking of all day and her answer, of course, was a resounding YES!
The Big Day
When the big day arrived, Eric and Danica decided to have a first look at Middle Island. Eric stood on the path, nervously shifting his feet. When Danica softly said his name, he turned and all his worries slipped away. He was awed by how beautiful she looked. They embraced and told one another how much they loved each other.THIS is why I love first looks. That is the most special moment of the day because it belongs to them. Just them.
The ceremony took place in Baie du Vin at a friend’s cottage. The arbor was set up on a hill overlooking the water. In the distance you could see the storm clouds pass us by, the sun seemed to shine just for them. The ceremony was quick and personal. Just like that, they were pronounced Husband and Wife!
I didn’t come to be Danica and Eric’s photographer in the traditional way. Covid-19 interfered and put us together, and I could not be more thankful. They are the most beautiful couple, inside and out. Their families were wonderful and a great time was had by myself and everyone who attended their wedding. I cannot thank them enough for allowing me to be there for them on their day.
