While it was certainly an excessively rainy wedding day weather-wise, you’d never know it when looking at Shelby & Dustin. Torrential downpours caused the ceremony to be moved indoors and certainly limited our options for photos; but not once did I see them upset. Pure happiness radiated from Shelby & Dustin all day long.
Shelby and Dustin got ready separately and then had a first look on the porch of one of the Storeytown Cottages cabins. Dustin was so excited to see Shelby, he couldn’t contain himself! All the steps he was told went out the window the moment Shelby said his name. They embraced and murmured to each other and had a good laugh at him jumping the gun.
The Ceremony
The sun came out just enough for the happy couple to make their way to the ceremony. They exchanged their vows in their reception tent in front of family and friends. Between laughter, tears and smiles Shelby and Dustin said “I do”. Everyone cheered!
The Reception
Shelby had some surprises up her sleeve. She didn’t have one dress for the wedding day, but three! Shelby changed into her reception dress for their first dance and everyone was wowed. She later changed into a shorter dress for the party part of the evening.
To say it was a day that went according to plan would be a lie. However, the vibe, the atmosphere, everything was joyous and filled with love. Love from family and friends for Shelby & Dustin and love for each other. I had an absolute blast at this wedding! As someone who loves a plan, it’s nice to be reminded that sometimes throwing the plan aside can lead to magic. Wishing you both an amazing life together!
